Today, a meandering conversation and other musings guided a dialogue that I was having with a friend to the subject of Twitter … and the path it took, and the outcome of this conversation, rather took me by surprise. A wise, old-school, and rather eminent GP friend of mine, who practises in South Wales, was extolling the virtues of Twitter. I was at first frankly dismissive and bemused. But I listened on. To wit, he was championing Tweeting classes above and beyond my wildest imagination. I have often remarked that the only folks worth their salt and pepper who could Tweet for the general benefit of mankind might be George Bernard Shaw and Oscar Wilde ― both brilliant and avid commentators and wordsmiths. I can well imagine their Tweets really would raise a daily eyebrow and more. Where can we find their incisive perceptivity, depth, and wit in Twitterdom today?
- Is the content really what you wish your readers to receive?
- Does the Tweet do you justice?
- Does the Tweet resonate with the main message you want to get across?
- Is the Tweet civil, respectful, and definitely not libellous ?
